Dates
February 17 (Launch Day): Introduction to the challenge, event orientation, and a keynote address from our event organizers. A Launch Day Microsoft Teams link will be sent to all participants.
February 18–19 (Development): Team working sessions with scheduled online mentor blocks for directional guidance.
February 20 (Presentation Day): Final presentations and evaluation by our panel of judges.
Eligibility
Who can join: Undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate students. Must be affiliated with an Ontario Institution/University.
Fields of interest: Engineering, Computer Science, Medicine, Business, and related disciplines.
Team Structure: Register individually or in teams of up to 4 members. Individual registrants can be matched with others to form collaborative teams, upon request.
Project and Submission Requirements
All teams must submit on Devpost, with a link to their project's codebase (Github) and also a demo of their submission - this will ideally be a link or an app that can be opened and used by the judge.
Judging Criteria and Winner Selection
- Educational value: Does it meaningfully support learning?
- Innovation: Is it imaginative, fresh, or uniquely impactful?
- Usability: Is it intuitive and learner‑friendly?
- Feasibility: Could it realistically be developed further at SHN?
- Presentation: Is the final pitch clear, compelling, and well‑demonstrated?
